The Sea Hole is having one of their occasional $50L sales. One color on just about every item in the store is specially marked down. You’ll see the special symbol when you get to the store. Words can simply not do it justice 🙂
Since all the items I picked up at the sale were rather summery, I thought I might find a suitable beach location for shots. Now, I love the beach, and I love virtual beaches even more (no sand between my toes!). However, doing a public photo shoot is rather dicey. One has to find a private place to change clothes, and as post a short time ago noted, beach sims can take a high toll on the processing ability of less-than-new computers.
I really wanted a private beach to myself, but the only land I own is landlocked. So these pictures are taken at my new sky platform. It’s one of Garth Wizenheim’s sky islands, available on the Marketplace and at his Skybox Store inworld. I bought a 32 x 32 Castaway Island Skybox which fits perfectly on my 1034 lot. There are styles as small as 16 x 32 and larger than 100 x 100. Most are priced in the $450L to $700L range, and include water and wave animations. Some include underwater reefs. All are low prim.
I may never go back to a public beach again!
In case you’re wondering….the gold shoes in the first pic are from G Field. In the last picture, I have apart of a freebie top from STC under the one piece romper, because I was in serious danger of a wardrobe malfunction otherwise. The hair in all three pics is one of the A&A freebie hairs in the Marketplace, and the skin is from Glam Affair at the latest Dressing Room. And if I stay out in the sun much longer, I’ll need the other skin available now at TDR…a very cute sunburnt skin from YS&YS.
I’m fascinated with clothing and avatar elements in SL which we really don’t replicate in real life. I love being able to change tattoos or go to non-tattooed skin in an instant. I love hair styles that would be nearly impossible to create or sustain IRL. When I saw this dramatic dress in L’Abel‘s new collection, I knew I wanted other dramatic elements to complete the outfit.
The hair is from the current Dressing Room Blue collection, made by LOQ Hairs. It’s not just red, it’s Dana Scully Red (thanks, LOQ…more please). No, it’s not called Dana Scully Red, it’s called Firey Red (my kids are devouring The X-Files on Netflix streaming, so I have X-Files on the brain right now). The name of the hairstyle is Pancake.
The butterfly tattoo is from Wunderlich’s Historical Garb. These face tattoos are only $75L per design and there are several styles to choose from.
The shoes are from Patula’s House, and the skin is from Heartsick, only $60L for Super Bargain Saturday (and it is a super bargain!).
Pose from flowery.

It’s really kind of ironic, but whenever Putrid Gloom of Show Me On The Doll releases a new promotional or member group outfit in Second Life, I’m typically very happy! I love, love, love the detail in the outfits and the humor underlying the darker goth styles. Last week Putrid released a feminine, fluffy treat of a dress for Stumblebum called “The Tear Pool”…and it was only $50L! A day or so later, Putrid sent subscribo group members a note, saying that the dress had really been rather successful, so Putrid was going to release another color, called “The Raspberry Whine” which would be priced at only $50L as well.
I apologize for not having more specifics on skin, hair, shoes and poses, but I was running so late with this post that I wanted to go ahead and get it online [EDITED TO ADD: I have updated some of the info below and hope to do more later]. As you can see by the pictures, if one’s avatar is wearing this dress with the boa, it’s really better to wear short hair or an updo. The hair on the left is one of the newer Truth hairs currently on sale – it’s called Midori. The hair on the right is LoQ Hairs Con Panna – Ash Black from The Fashion House. The shoes on the left are from aMused at The Industry Shopping District Fair, and the ones on the right are from SLink (currently featured at The Dressing Room Blue).
